Waterway Gets Nearly $270M

The Trent-Severn Waterway (TSW) will get a historic federal investment of nearly $270 million. Paddlers set new record with 138 crafts in lock

The city set a new record Sunday for the most paddle crafts in Peterborough’s Lock 21 at once. One-hundred-and-thirty-eight kayaks and canoes filled the west lift for National Canoe Day, breaking the city’s previous record of 101 set in 2003. TSW Lockage Fees Waived For 2017

Trent Severn Waterway lockage fees waived for 2017 to mark Canada’s 150th birthday. Parks Canada annouced Friday it will waive lockage fees on the Trent-Severn Waterway to help mark Canada’s 150th birthday. The lockage fee break also applies to Ontario’s Rideau Canal and to serveral canals in Quebec — including Carillon, Chambly, Lachine, Sainte-Anne-Bellevue and Saint-Ours. …
